samuel crowther born 1875 or 76
mother sarah davis father samuel crowther dodderhill droitwich worcestershire
brother william henry sisters mary and maria
sarah drowns 1880 dad sam puts samuel and maria in the work house as on 1881 census.
dad sam is hanged for murder in 1888
have found all other siblings after this but cant find sam (1875/6) for definate after this
he could still be in the work house in 1891 or on a barge in west bromwich with solomon bourne after that i loose him thanks zena

the death inww1 isnt him its another sam born same place different dad yes thats the census i found plus one in the work house in worcester were he was in 1881

Well you mentioned that he was with Soloman Bourne and I just put two and two together as I saw the name.

On the 1881 census Soloman is with his mother Ann Bourne and sister Julia but they are living next door to a Maria Bourne who is 69.

Is'nt there a list of Boatman somewhere?? I have come across Boatmen before as I have one in my tree. He could have been on the boat on the 1901 census so got missed out. Can anyone find Soloman Bourne on the 1901?? He was a Captain and on the 1881 census his mother Ann is a Boatman's wife.

hi all have got 1903 marriage cert and 1962 death both same sam just not mine seems the sam in 1903 married mary elizabeth partridge not annmaria bourne and the informant on the death certificate is george the brother of the dead sam on the census the sam who marries mary has a brother george. my sam only has a brother called william.
so am back to sam in the droitwich work house 1891

Zena.
Looks like Soloman´s surname in 1891 is Bourne. He is probably Charlotte Griffith´s son from a previous marriage because all the Griffiths children are much younger.
Samuel Crowther is said to be born Staffordshire, Wolverhampton.
