Information about British Officers Taken Prisoner Of War 1914-1918
During the First World War, over 7,000 British and Commonwealth Officers were taken prisoner. This dataset with 7691 records includes name, rank, theatre of operations, date they went missing, where/when they were interned and their date of repatriation. For soldiers that died, it gives the date and place of death.
Includes Officers of the British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Naval Air Service and Royal Naval Division, plus regiments of the Indian Army, Australian, Canadian, South African and Newfoundland Forces.
