I am seeking relatives of my father Richard Bohan born in Birr, Co. Offlay in 1923 to Richard Bohan and Mary Cahill nee Coleman. Mary was a widow when she married my grandfather in 1920 and had three daughters with Daniel Cahill, Sarah and Mary who came to England to nurse and Esther who I believe stayed in Birr and married and had three children Mary, Bridget and Michael Reddin. As well as my father Richard and Mary had a son Thomas born in 1921. My father died in London in August, 1948 before I was born and I am anxious to learn more about my irish roots.

You're looking for living relatives, Richard.

Googling "Reddin, Birr" produces several results.

There's a Fr Michael Reddin at St Brendans Church in Birr - or at least there was in 2012:

[EDIT:
But on the church website (and other websites) his name's spelled Reddan:
http://stbrendansbirr.ie/wordpress/staff/
so presumably not your relative. ]

There's a Eoin Reddin in Birr on Facebook.

There's a cyclist named Chris Reddin from Birr.

Bridget, Mary and Michael , and a fourth child, Veronica, were all born in Birr 1940-47.
MMS Cahill.

(Per Ancestry)

If you "Search all members trees" - under "Search" at the top of this page - you'll find a Micheal (spelled like that) Reddin born in 1945 in Ireland in the tree of someone named Stephen
Right year, but may or may not be the right Michael! Click on "Find out more" beside Stephen's name to ask him.

Maddie,

According to the tree on ancestry which shows the wedding certificate, they got married on 10th November, 1920, so rules out those baptisms.

The church in Birr has confirmed the half sister relationships and the birth of Thomas, Richard my dad and Thomas were confirmed in 1935 so we know the family were in Crinkle near Birr then. My grandfather was a soldier and Crinkle had a barracks. My father joined the merchant navy so I believe did not come to England with the rest of his family. The church could not confirm any other children of Richard and Mary
