All I know is that Derek was the only child of Hector & Edith Harvey and that Derek went to New Zealand. No idea if he married of what happened to him.

R G Harvey still has phone book listing in Willetton. However, if they are the same generation, she may be quite elderly/frail. As said before, they may have no connection to your family.

See what the death notices come up with first. If a funeral director is named, they may be willing to tell you if the named Derek was born in England & act as a co-between to Rosyln. You do have a dob as a checking point with them.

When Derek's mother Edith died in 1989 she had lived in a home in Norwood/Croydon area for some years as my grandmother (who died in 1978) used to go and visit her. They all attended my parents wedding in 1947. Really I am trying to find out what happened to Derek's uncle Sidney (my grandfather) who was very close to Derek's dad Hector, Sidney's brother and who went missing circa 1944 but guess everyone would now have died so it will remain a mystery.

If that's the case Roslyn, if she is related by marriage, probably wouldn't have any idea what happened to your grandfather.
