Hi all

Thought you would all like to know our fantastic news.

I wrote two letters to the addresses that Contrary Mary sent me.
One to William and another to Jennifer with all fingers crossed.
Jennifers Mother Ann Marie phoned me this morning.
Since then our phones haven't stopped!
Grand daughter has spoken to her Grand Father also her TWO new Auntys! Jennifer has a Sister.
I told Ann Marie of the two family deaths and left her to tell her Daughters also William.

The girls are all the same age group and got on like a house on fire.
After an exchange of photos the likeness is uncanny! and you can see they are all related.
Isn't it wonderful!!!!!!

A reunion is planned for after April.

Thank you everyone for all your help.

From a very happy Nanny Geraldine xx

As you now have an address for 1980 in Surrey, you could maybe follow that by checks in electoral lists to see how long he was there.

At least this would hopefully bring you at least a few years on in time.

Marriage cert arrived and YES it's our man William Kenneth Prentice McMillan.
age 28
Ann Marie Docherty age 25 address Leatherhead and an air stewardess. Father James Docherty.
His address was in Tolworth which is in Kingston upon Thames where we found the birth of Jennifer Anne b.1985.
I have looked for Ann M Docherty birth both in Scotland also England. Cert says aged 25 (b1965?) only ones that come up are in Scotland 1964 and 1966. Sent for both and waiting for mr postie.....
I have tried to buy Jeniffers birth but as it's less than 50 years and so they are asking for information I haven't got.

How can three people vanish from the planet??????

to sum up...
William K P Mcmillan b.1951 Scotland.
Married in Surry 1980 to...Ann Marie Docherty b.1955?
Find a birth for Jennifer Anne Mcmillan in 1985 same town as Fathers address in 1980. Kingston Upon Thames.
I can only assume that she's ours.
Cant find a Marriage for Jennifer.
Last known existence of any of these about 2004 on GR tree from Jennifer.
My message to her still not read.

Has anyone tried the Salvation Army before?

Totally lost now So close yet so far.....

Hi again sorry for delay.

He married Pamela Mary Brown/Schoneville (marriage recorded twice in each name) in 1970 in Motherwell &Wishaw. . Pam left him and came to Hertfordshire, He came looking for her and found her then they divorced. This was 1972/3. We assumed he went back to Scotland.

That marriage looks very promising! His full name was William Kenneth Prentice McMillan!!!!! Will go now and order the cert. Well done ArgyllGran and huge thanks

Ah - I had the wrong surname!

Unfortunately, unless all his middle initials are given , he'll be hard to find on ERs and other lists. There are lots of William or William K McMillans on ERs.

EDIT:

Having said that -
there's a marriage of a William K P McMillan to an Ann in Surrey in 1980.

Name mis-spelled Willima on Ancestry.

You said Pam left your WKP. Did they divorce?

You say "last seen 1973/4". Where was that?

Thanks everyone for still trying to help me. Sorry about the confusion about the Surname.

Kenneth Ian McMillan b1971-D 2008 b Lanark and d England.
Father William Kenneth Prentice McMillan B 1951 Scotland...Age from marriage cert in 1970 Lanark.
Kenneth Ians Mother Pam is also dead 1989.
So I think i'm ok in putting full information. Fingers crossed William is still alive as he is needed at his Granddaughters wedding in April.
She has asked me to try and find a living relative from her Fathers Family. This is my Granddaughter.

Thanks again

I have been assuming that William and Kenneth are his forenames, and that Geraldine has not told us his surname - is that correct, Geraldine?

If so, there were 10 William Kenneths born in Scotland in 1951, with assorted surnames.

EDIT:
I've deleted some of this post, because I had wrongly "deduced" a wrong surname.

Dougieb1 Report 16 Feb 2017 21:16

There is no record of a Willam Kenneth born in 1951 in the Scottish Records.

There is however a birth recorded of a William Moore Kenneth born in Scotland in 1945.

Are your sure that your DOB is correct.

Hi
I'm tying to find someone who was born in Scotland 1951. Last seen in 1973/4.
I've looked on Scotlands people and cant see a remarriage or a death.
Any clues how I find him please?
I have also looked on 192.com for England also tried white pages for Scotland but not very clever at working that one lol
Any other ideas?
