Why is it the many do not have the courtesy to respond to an email query on GR. Some emails sent are not opened, folk may be away or no longer subscribe. BUT what of those who open the email whether or not is belongs or pertains to a family member. |

It might depend on how you've worded your PM. If it was a rather blunt 'show me your tree' - that might well be ignored. |

Also......bear in mind that GRs is a free tree so it may be the case that those who do not reply aren't interested in contact from others. |

When i first joined GR in 2007, i had lots of queries and also sent quite alot myself, and nearly all were answered., . Over the years, this seems to have declined, for reason unknown, but now its once in a 'blue moon'. |

I think it is very unfair to call those who do not respond to messages as rude or not decent. Nobody is obliged to reply, it isn't in the rules. |

Having been a member for over 10 years now I have probably contacted most members who I think may be of interest, and I must say, overall, have had a reasonable response record over that time, probably pushing up to 50%. As a result I have well over 80 pages, more than 1,600 members in My contacts and that is after deleting those who are of no interest. |

I have had someone tell me her 'Blackberry' automatically read emails.....not sure how that would happen as I thought you actually had to come onto this site and click the message to show that it has been read? |

Thanks for responses, but I am polite and do not ask or demand to see one's family tree. My enquiry goes something like, |

Roslyn did make it quite clear in her opening post that she was referring to people who had opened those messages. ;-) |
