A Family Tree says this is his wife, no documentation

Mary Ann Buckle

1791–1839

Birth 1791

Death APRIL 1839 • Tendring, Essex

Several trees are citing his birth or baptism date, but i cannot see any documentation.

I'll see if I can find his baptism and marriage ......... I trust myself much more than trees

SylviaInCanada Report 14 Oct 2016 01:35

I'll put this on ................

this is what the Rix Family Tree has posted as evidence for John Rix baptism ................

England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975

Name John Rix
Gender Male
Spouse Mary
Child John Rix

The problem?

a) I cannot find any records on Seelct Births

b) the trees are all showing Philip Rix and Ann Lufkin as parents

I THINK this baptism is for John Rix's SON John, born 1825

The trees are showing John Sr birth or baptism as

John Rix

Birth 28 JUN 1789 • Thorpe Le Soken, Essex, England

OR

28 Jun 1789 • Weabriess, Essex, England <<<<<< this place obviously taken from the 1851 Census

I currently have no idea where they got the date from!!

I'm still trying to find proof!

because I've found them!

from Freereg2

baptisms of John's children

County Essex
Place Thorpe-le-Soken
Church name St Michael
Register type Parish Register
Register entry number 301
Baptism date 13 May 1821
Person forename Susanna
Person sex F
Person abode Thorpe-le-Soken
Father forename John
Father surname RIX
Father occupation Labourer
Mother forename Mary

they all show the same information, so I'll just post the short version

Eliza RIX Baptism 18 May 1823 Essex Thorpe-le-Soken (St Michael) [Parish Register]

John RIX Baptism 14 Jun 1825 Essex Thorpe-le-Soken (St Michael) [Parish Register]

William RIX Baptism 29 Nov 1827 Essex Thorpe-le-Soken (St Michael) [Parish Register]

Maria RIX Baptism 12 Jan 1831 Essex Thorpe-le-Soken (St Michael) [Parish Register]

Charlotte RIX Baptism 30 Sep 1832 Essex Thorpe-le-Soken (St Michael) [Parish Register]

Eleanor RIX Baptism 16 Jul 1838 Essex Thorpe-le-Soken (St Michael) [Parish Register] P.

The only difference was that P. was put as a note in the Register for Eleanor, and I think that meant a Private Baptism.

You can get the images from:
http://seax.essexcc.gov.uk/

It costs 10 quid for a 1 day subscription, with cheaper per diem rates for longer periods.

FS has transcriptions for free of all the English censuses:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND

They are not full transcriptions, but close (except for 1911, which is pretty useless as it doesn't group the records into households).

Just for comparison, here's what FS gives for Sylvia's 3 hits:

1841 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MQ2J-88M
1851 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGVF-PR7
1861 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M74B-CYH
