Find Ancestors

Am trying to find the names of John's parents, but free Irish sites are no help. John died in Stoke on trent in 1980, age 92, but he married and had children in Athy, County Kildare, Ireland
Siblings = (Eleanor) Sophia, Charlotte Mabel Georgina and Gertrude
Married Agnes O'Neill in Athy, 1939.

Is it possible that Charlotte's father registered her death as she seems to have been single at the time (although birth year is out by quite a lot)? :-

You've been such a help so far and I was wondering if I could ask again?
I am trying to trace descendants from 1) the marriage of Eleanor Sophia Hendley/Hendly and John Rankin, married 30/4/1916, co. Kildare

2) the marriage of Gertrude Hendley/hendly and George rankin, married 5/3/1918, Co. Kildare (two sisters marrying two brothers, both in St James' church)
I have looked on irishgenealogy.ie, but can find no definite births and on familysearch, the details of the childs' parents seems to show only the father's name.
There is a John Hendly Rankin birth shown on family search for 1919, but it doesn't show on the irish website.
Hendly family were born into C of I, if that's any help

so sorry but I am new at this. I have just sent Sandra a private message, as you suggested. I am trying to research both my father's and mother's sides of the family. This post has been rather helpful to be honest but I am trying to find out more.
I cannot determine which of the children were born to Catharine Jones and which from Sophia Condell. I then got as far as my great great grandfather, who I assume is John Hendley born 1800 but I have also seen documents with a James Hendley and William Hendley who were the witnesses to Catharine Jones and Thomas Hendley's wedding (or so I think from the handwriting on the image?)

Yes, that website has been a massive help and I was amazed that the actual images of registers etc were visible for free!

Delving further on there though has made me come to a stop as I cannot find much more out at present
