Harold Holt and his wife Phyllis, along with Harold's mother, Frances. last known address Lancaster Court, Lancaster Avenue in 1964. if anyone regularly visits Lambeth Archives I wonder if they could look up this family in the electoral records from 1965. desperately need to know when Frances no longer on the register :-(

Frances Holt was born Frances Sanderson 1895 in Carlisle. she married John Moffat in Carlisle. she and her husband parted and Frances left Carlisle with her son Harold in approx. 1938. I've traced them over the years in London, Brighton and then back in London. Harold changed his name to Harold Holt, don't know why. Frances also started using the name Holt as wel, though she didn't re-marry.
Last known address was Lancaster Ave., in Lambeth in 1964. Have checked the 1965 electoral register but can't find Frances, Harold or his wife Phyllis.

What does Frances's middle initial M in 1964 stand for?

Her birth record gives no middle name.

So far, I can't see a death for her under any of her surnames.

Assuming this was her birth, the 1969 death isn't likely to be her, unfortunately:

Audrey's tree on Ancestry has her birth as 15/06/1895.

So he married as Harold Holt

Coincidently her surname had been Sanderson too

You are aware, I'm sure, that historical ER's other than those which are on line are searchable only by address

There was a Harold & Phyllis Holt in Catterick on 2002/4 ERs. With them was an Irene M, who is on the 2013 ER at same address according to 192.com.

They may be totally unconnected, but worth a shot at a letter - you've nothing to loose?

The birth of Harold, and the deaths of both Harold and Phyllis, posted by Shirley, are correct per Audrey's tree on Ancestry.

Phyllis was born Challenor (by the way, interesting this name should crop up, as there was a recent thread about the origin of the name!) 1918; married first to Mr Holden (possibly still alive) in 1940, then (per Audrey's tree) to someone else, presumably Mr Sanderson, though I can't see a record of it on FreeBMD, and then to Harold in 1963.

As a guess, and as Harold and Phyllis both apparently lived in Lambeth until their deaths (though they could have moved elsewhere, then returned - who knows?!), and as Frances was 70 in 1965 . . . .
presumably she died in Lambeth.

Just can't find a record of it.

he was living at . Frances could still have been living then as would be c90 years old
