Please can anyone help.
I am trying to find the birth certificate for my husbands father.
George Taylor 21 November 1896 place not known.
In 1904 they lived at 57 Stockwell Green Brixton / Lambeth.
He whent to St Micheal's School and then whent to Stockwell Road School.
I can not find the Stockwell Road School, registers.
I have so many wrong certificates so maybe he wasn't born there.
The only other thing we know is his father was James Taylor.
Can anyone suggest an other line I can take.
Thank you
Cathy

Hi Cathy.
Can I ask if you know what his father's occupation was? And how do you know where they were living in 1904 please?

His birthplace will be recorded on the census returns for 1901 and 1911

What was his father's occupation?

The James H Taylor in 1901 census was a mineral water bottler .
Does that in any way match the occupation shown on George's marriage cert ?

from pm received:

He was married 3 times and it was different on all of them.
James was a railway engine driver, a lab.
George was a chef, and a lab.
He was working in a hotel in Wandworth ( we think ) when my
husbands mother met him. 1936

If George married your husband's mother, his father's occupation will be stated on their marriage certificate

There's not a death that I can see in Yorkshire that matches his birth? Do you have the death certificate that you refer to?
