lol - I really DO have Bunions in my family tree.

Some changed the spelling to Bunyan, some to Bullion.

I had bunions on each foot. Had them lopped off 10 years back. No one else in my family has bunions. I put it down to stilleto heels that you had to break in in the 60's. Got a corn now where the bunion used to be.

I can only think that Victoria Beckham has some magic potion to ease the pain of her bunions which are very evident. I don't know how she could wear those shoes without some sort of painkiller.

:-P :-P :-P @ Island.

Funny reading this thread (don't think it's all of it) - I'd forgotten about it. What's happened to our Squirrel - she hasn't posted for ages? Always made me larf and cheered me up.

Diana, I have bunions, but have never heard of a bunion bursa - will research tomorrow. I had an elbow bursa a couple of months ago - wonder if that's a similar 'affliction', but it's OK now.

Back for a bunion chat tomorrow (sorry, I know you all can't wait, but I need to put my feet up, had a busy day and my bunions are killing me) :-D

Bunions run in my family . My Nan shoes used to fascinate me when I was a kiddie , I actually thought she bought her shoes in that shape ! lol
My Mum had the bunions , as do I and one of my four children have inherited them :-(

Don't think so Puss, I think you can get bunions at a relatively early age....after all our Wend is suffering from them. i should imagine they must get worse as you get older but that's just a guess.

Sharron,

I will check that with my Green brother-in-law.

Sharron

Sharron Report 23 Feb 2012 10:02

All my Greens have a funny little toe. It is sort of pointed and has a nail that grows upwards and gets knocked off if you don't keep it well short.

Usually,if I meet a Green, I will enquire about their little toes.

I am surprised by this. Was reading on another genes. research site. Someone researching the surname Hackett said that they were the branch of the family with bunions! This was my mums maiden name, she had bunions, but I thought it was from wearing tight shoes in her youth!
I thought that the family researcher was being foolish 9for want ofa better word) Now find that I am the foolish one and he was right1

(Hangs head in shame).

But I come from the branch of the family that has a large sticking out stomach :-( :-(
